You can delete your Squadel account and its data at any time — from inside the app, or by emailing us if you no longer have it installed.
In the app
Open Squadel and go to:
You → Settings → Delete account
You'll be asked to confirm. Deletion happens immediately — there is no waiting period and no way to undo it.
By email
If you've already removed the app, email reiss.barran@gmail.com from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my Squadel account”. We'll confirm your identity, delete the account, and reply to confirm within 30 days — in practice, within a few days.
What gets deleted
- Your login — the authentication record itself is removed, so you can no longer sign in;
- Your personal details — display name, username, avatar, and the hash of your phone number if you used “Find from contacts”;
- Your device push tokens, so notifications stop immediately;
- Your membership of every crew;
- Your RSVPs to games that haven't been played yet.
What stays, and why
Games and match results are shared records — they belong to everyone who played, not just one player. Deleting your account leaves an anonymised placeholder in their place: past results, and anything you posted alongside them (comments, crew chat messages), remain in your crews' history attributed to “Former player” rather than to you. Nothing there identifies you.
If you owned a crew, ownership passes to its longest-standing other member so their history isn't lost. A crew with no other members is deleted outright, along with its games and ledger.
If you want your posted messages removed as well as anonymised, say so in your email and we'll delete them by hand.
Backups and retention
Deleted data can persist in encrypted database backups for up to 30 days, after which the backups expire and it is gone permanently. We don't restore deleted accounts from backups.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a Squadel Pro subscription — billing is handled by the app store, not by us. Cancel it in Google Play → Subscriptions (or the App Store, if you subscribed on iPhone) before or after deleting.
