Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-05-25 · Last updated 2026-05-25

This is the privacy policy for Solly, an iOS application. It explains what data the app handles and what we do (and don't do) with it.

The plain version: your data stays on your phone. We don't read it, store it, sell it, or train anything on it.

Who we are

Solly is published by reiss.dev. You can reach us at reiss.barran@gmail.com for any privacy or data question.

What stays on your device

When you use Solly, the following data is stored locally on your device using the device's secure app sandbox (and the App Group shared with the widgets):

  • Your most recent UV snapshot (hourly forecast, sunrise, sunset).
  • Your last-known location (used to fetch the snapshot).
  • Your settings (notification preferences, appearance, units).
  • Which cosmetics you own and which are currently worn.
  • Onboarding state.

This data never leaves your device. We have no servers that store it, and nobody at Solly can read it.

If you delete the app, or use any in-app Reset all data control, this data is permanently removed.

What leaves your device

Solly makes two kinds of network call:

Apple WeatherKit (UV forecast)

To know today's UV index, Solly asks Apple's WeatherKit for the forecast at your current location. WeatherKit sees your approximate coordinates and returns weather data. Apple's privacy practices apply.

We never see your location or the forecast — the request goes from your device straight to Apple.

Apple StoreKit (in-app purchases)

When you buy a cosmetic (sunglasses, hat, propeller hat) or leave a tip in the tip jar, the transaction is handled by Apple's StoreKit. Apple sees your Apple ID and payment details. We never see those — we only learn, via the StoreKit receipt on your device, that the purchase succeeded.

Apple's privacy practices are described at apple.com/legal/privacy.

What we don't do

  • No analytics SDKs. No Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, nothing. We don't track screen views, taps, or session length.
  • No advertising. No ads, no ad SDKs, no ad identifiers, no IDFA prompt.
  • No tracking across apps or websites.
  • No third-party purchase services. Solly uses Apple's StoreKit directly — no RevenueCat, no Stripe, no web payment links.
  • No selling, sharing, or licensing your data to anyone.
  • No machine learning or AI training on your data. We never see it, so this isn't possible.
  • No newsletters or marketing emails from us. Push notifications, if you enable them, come from your own device based on UV thresholds — never from our servers.

Children

Solly is not designed for, marketed to, or directed at children. We don't knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

Your rights

  • Delete everything: use the app's in-app reset option, or delete the app from your device.
  • Restore purchases: any cosmetic you've previously bought can be restored on a new device via the Restore Purchases button.
  • Ask a question: email reiss.barran@gmail.com.

If you're in the EU/UK, you also have the right to a copy of your data, the right to have it corrected, and the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. The data on your device is yours — you have full access to it through the app.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll update the Last updated date at the top and surface a notice in the app before the change takes effect.
