Terms of Use

Effective 2026-05-25 · Last updated 2026-05-25

These terms govern your use of Solly, an iOS application published by reiss.dev ("we", "us"). Using the app means you accept them.

What Solly is

Solly is a calm UV-index reader for iOS. It shows today's UV through a friendly sun character whose mood changes with the UV level, plus widgets for your Home Screen and Lock Screen.

Solly is not a substitute for sun safety advice from a doctor. The UV forecast comes from Apple's WeatherKit and reflects modelled, approximate conditions — always use your own judgement when planning time outdoors.

Your account, your data

Solly does not require an account. Your data stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

In-app purchases

Solly offers optional, one-time in-app purchases:

  • Cosmetics (sunglasses, sun hat, propeller hat) — non-consumable items that dress up the Solly character. Once bought, they're yours forever and can be restored on any device signed into your Apple ID.
  • Tip jar (small, medium, large) — consumable thank-you tips that unlock nothing. They're purely to support development.

All purchases are handled by Apple's StoreKit and managed through your Apple ID. Pricing is shown in-app before purchase. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app, and not to use the app in violation of applicable law.

Availability and changes

We may update Solly from time to time — bug fixes, new features, design changes. We may also discontinue or change features at our discretion. Material changes that affect your rights or data will be surfaced in-app before they take effect.

No warranty

Solly is provided as is. We make no warranties (express or implied) that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all such warranties.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the app is limited to the amount you have paid us (via Apple) for Solly in-app purchases in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited — for example, liability for fraud, gross negligence, or harm caused by wilful misconduct.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Amsterdam, unless mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
